Overview
What is hair transplant consultation?
A transplant consultation establishes whether surgery is appropriate, whether medical treatment should come first, and what a realistic result looks like. Many people are advised to stabilise hair loss medically before considering surgery.
Every plan at Own Skin Dermatology & Advanced Aesthetics begins with a consultation, an honest assessment of what will help, and what will not.

The science
How hair transplant consultation works
Scalp examination and trichoscopy assess donor and recipient areas
01
Assess the pattern
Stage, donor density and likely future loss are evaluated with trichoscopy.
02
Treat reversible causes
Deficiencies, thyroid issues and scalp disease are addressed before surgery is considered.
03
Advise on timing
You receive a frank recommendation on whether and when transplant makes sense.
Surgical options and referral pathways are discussed at consultation
